Oscar Madness: Midnight In Paris

We’re working on watching the Oscars Best Picture Nominees. Last weekend we took in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. It is also nominated in three other categories: Best Writing/Original Screenplay, Art Direction, and Directing.

This is a romantic comedy set in Paris about a family that goes there because of business, and two young people who are engaged to be married in the fall have experiences there that change their lives. It’s about a young man’s great love for a city, Paris, and the illusion people have that a life different from theirs would be much better.

(Synopsis from here)

We found it very entertaining. Midnight in Paris was never slow or boring and often laughable. We made note of Owen Wilson dressed like a Woody Allen, the sets were fantastic, the shots of France were exactly how we each imagine Paris.

I know this will be an addition to our Blu-ray collection.
